The tone was set for a night of raunchy on fire rock for the most part and it was awesome.<\/p>\n<p>The show was handled in a song swap arrangement and each song took on a life of its own with a slant to the harder side that did not hurt my feelings.\u00a0 Combining these three deranged in a good way cats really meshed well on stage with funny jabs being tossed out all night!\u00a0 Even the song selection resonated that theme with Dayton\u2019s \u201cDaddy Was a Bad Ass\u201d, JE\u2019s \u201cWhiskey Woman Delta High\u201d and red hot crescendo of energy on Stinson\u2019s \u201cFast &amp; Ribs\u201d which they dead panned must be an advertisement for the Catholic church!\u00a0 Classic.<\/p>\n<p>They veered off for a short set on acoustic where they \u201clet the drummer\u201d stand up and Evans\u2019 \u201cMy Profession Left Me Drinking Whiskey\u201d, \u201cJD on \u201cLike a Possum Ran Over My Grave\u201d and \u201cBeautiful Thang\u201d were sweet.\u00a0\u00a0 Comical flash back Stinson told me was he found out early on he could not hang with the hard liquor \u201ctalents\u201d of his two band mates!\u00a0 Epic.<\/p>\n<p>But there was no doubt that the reason this gig was even happening was to showcase the rockin\u2019 prowess of this trio.\u00a0 When you can turn Stinson\u2019s \u201cBox I Take to Work\u201d into a hard shredding bombastic song you\u2019re doin\u2019 somethin\u2019 I mean to tell ya.\u00a0 Dayton just mashed the pedal to the floor roaring thru \u201cTall Walking Texas Trash\u201d and a fitting tribute to the recently departed David Bowie with a spine tingling version of\u00a0 \u201cSuffragette City\u201d which left the audience with a WTF just happened look on their faces!\u00a0 This get together definitely gathered some traction and I\u2019d love to see if it comes together more often down the road.\u00a0 For one night it was beyond worth it to kick out the jams with three very talented wild and crazy guys\u2026\u2026\u2026.bring it back!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Written by Eddie Ferranti It is very rare these days when performers \u201ccollaborate\u201d on a musical project and take it out on the road for a test spin.\u00a0\u00a0 One such treat came in the form of The El Grande\u2019 Trio to the splendid confines of Main Street Crossing in Tomball, Texas.\u00a0 The talented line-up consisted&#8230;
