I\u2019ve been told I\u2019m quite good at it.\u00a0\u00a0 Well one I laid on tonight\u2019s performer, Robyn Ludwick, still holds true and she digs it.\u00a0 \u201cPsychedelic Hillbilly\u201d fits her music and style to a tee.\u00a0\u00a0 Calling this her pre-CD release show her four piece band rocked, rolled, jammed and just let their proverbial hair down to the sizeable crowd\u2019s delight!<\/p>\n

Decked out in some kind of snakeskin looking tight pants and cowboy boots RL seemed to be enjoying herself and the fun oozed into the audience. She let lead guitar whiz Kevin McKinney loose all night and it was a good thing major!\u00a0 Ed Jarusinsky on drums and hubby of 20+ years John Ludwick on bass formed a killer combo that plays very well in this acoustic gem of a building.\u00a0 RL is a pro who knows how to delegate on stage and has a cute \u201crubber song face\u201d of rock expressions!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cFor You Baby\u201d was a soulful blues number and the gig moved along free and easy with a tight band all evening.\u00a0 New cuts were plentiful like \u201cLove You For It\u201d, \u201cFreight Train\u201d about music biz from woman\u2019s side of the fence, \u201cTexas Jesus\u201d and \u201cInsider\u201d with building crescendo rock ripped out by KM!<\/p>\n

Ludwick can deliver the ballad in a passionate way like \u201cShe\u2019ll Get the Roses\u201d, \u201cI Fall Down and Get Up Again\u201d and \u201cMaria\u201d.\u00a0 Her straight forward songs definitely show an\u00a0 intoxicating Austin outlaw rock slant which is quite refreshing considering the packed field of women singer\/songwriters who\u2019d rather strum than take chances.\u00a0 I also dig that she chose not to piggyback on her maiden name to enhance her career being that her brothers Bruce and Charlie are so well known.\u00a0 Girl has a quiet confidence and friendly personality that is a major plus to this reviewer.\u00a0 Her upcoming CD seems chocked full of goodies that rock. She\u2019s coming back June 16 to this same bad ass venue to have her CD release party and we have that date circled!\u00a0 Check it out\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n
