\"Image\"Madonna and her large stage production made it to Houston\u2019s Toyota Center last Wednesday in sufficient time to get set up for the doors to open at 7 pm.\u00a0\u00a0 I am sure, based on the show that followed, that it took a lot of advance time and effort to get everything right and ready for her to take the stage. Once everything was set however, nothing of any significance happened inside the arena for 240 minutes.<\/p>\n

At a few minutes before 11 pm Ms. Madonna Louise Ciccone FINALLY came out to perform.\u00a0 Good grief, this was a \u2018school night\u2019 for many.\u00a0 It was an extremely long wait and these folks sitting in the audience had paid very good money to see her perform on Wednesday evening, not early Thursday morning!\u00a0 I think she crossed the line on being \u2018fashionably late\u2019 by about\u2026a very long time.\u00a0 Why would she do that to her fans?\u00a0 Don\u2019t ask me\u2026.in my world that\u2019s not the way you treat people.<\/p>\n

Having said all that, she came out and did her job exceptionally well.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t hear how Thursday night\u2019s show went.\u00a0 Hopefully it started earlier in the evening but I wouldn\u2019t hold my breath on that having been the case.<\/p>\n

I personally would not have deemed this a \u2018concert\u2019.\u00a0 It was more a major theatrical production that included not only music but significant lighting, significant videos, significant dancing and choreography, significant costuming, and significant theatrics\u2026as well as a band that was pretty darn good.\u00a0 Did I mention significant erotica?<\/p>\n

\"Image\"I have never seen Madonna perform live before.\u00a0 I wish I had, albeit a little earlier in an evening, before my bedtime.\u00a0 So I can only imagine that the girl must have been really \u2018hot\u2019 a few years back.\u00a0 Some remnants of that \u2018hotness\u2019 still shined through in this performance.<\/p>\n

They showed a video of the very sexy younger woman for those of us who perhaps had not paid attention in the past and helped us catch up on time and see what we\u2019d missed.\u00a0 For sure we missed a lot of skin, and a lot of curves in all the right places. Those curves hadn\u2019t \u2018relocated\u2019 much at age 54.\u00a0 I have heard she works it hard and it shows!\u00a0 There was no doubt after a very few minutes of observing her that she was very capable of putting on a show and she can sing her ass off.\u00a0\u00a0 I will come back to her ass again later\u2026.as she is obviously very proud of it.<\/p>\n

This woman has sold 300 million records worldwide \u2013 a very large number and says volumes about her popularity.\u00a0 That popularity was very evident with back to back sold out Houston shows.\u00a0 It looked as though most in attendance knew almost all of the numbers she sang.\u00a0 Her set list included 22 songs, starting with Girl Gone Wild, including Gang Bang, Express Yourself, Give Me All Your Love, Vogue, Like a Virgin, I\u2019m A Sinner, and concluding with Celebration.\u00a0 Nearly every song had a different theatrical production associated with it complete with strenuous choreography for the dancers.\u00a0 It was very impressive to watch even though it was so massive a production it was hard to take it all in.\u00a0 Do they have \u2018instant replay\u2019 for concerts\u2026maybe it will be a new iPhone app!\u00a0 (Now that I think about it, maybe that app is the smart phone video recorder.\u00a0 Does anyone ever just watch the show anymore?)<\/p>\n

Although I was not feeling good about the show\u2019s timing, which I blamed Madonna for, she got a full offsetting \u2018at-a-girl\u2019 when she started a rant about the importance of voting in the upcoming presidential election.\u00a0 She asked all if they were registered to vote and that they knew that they could not \u2018take democracy for granted\u2019! And \u2018we live in a very privileged country\u2019! Don\u2019t take it for granted.\u2019\u00a0 You tell \u2018em,\u00a0 Madonna!\u00a0 As in tonight, she is now telling her fans \u2018I don\u2019t care who you vote for but GO VOTE!\u2019.\u00a0 I agree with you totally\u2026and thank you for no longer telling me WHO to vote for!<\/p>\n

\"Image\"Before closing let me get back to that butt.\u00a0 You\u2019ll see that she \u2018presented it\u2019 to her audience.\u00a0 Although most couldn\u2019t zoom in on it like I was able to do, you now can see what I got to see.\u00a0 And now you have the \u2018flip side\u2019, the rest of the story.\u00a0 Yo Sean Penn, see what you\u2019re missing!?<\/p>\n
