Chickenfoot is a super group featuring guitarist Joe Satriani, drummer Kenny Aronoff, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and ex-Van Halen front-man Sammy Hagar.<\/p>\n

The packed house was pumped and ready to see Chickenfoot.\u00a0 As soon as Joe Satriani stepped on stage, and started it with Lighten Up.\u00a0 Satriani played for a minute and then the rest of the guys ran onto stage and the party got started!\u00a0 Alright Alright came next with a break from the music to chat with crowd.<\/p>\n

Chickenfoot hits including Big Foot, Sexy Little Thing, Soap on a Rope, My Kind Of Girl, and Last Temptation to name a few.<\/p>\n

From unreal guitar solos from Satriani, incredible drumming abilities from Aronoff, outstanding bass skills by Anthony, to Hagar\u2019s unmistakable voice that was on the money.<\/p>\n

All in all, these guys put on a great show.\u00a0 The crowd stayed rockin\u2019 and singing along for as long as they were on stage!
\nFour guys from Edmonton Kentucky who call themselves Black Stone Cherry opened the show and definitely left their mark at the Bayou Music Center with a great sound of modern Southern Fried Rock-n-Roll.<\/p>\n

The high energy quartet called Black Stone Cherry consists of vocalist Chris Robertson, guitarist Ben Wells, bassist Jon Lawhon and drummer John Fred Young. These guys have played together for almost 12 years while practicing in an old farm house which they call The Practice House.<\/p>\n

Much of their early inspiration came from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cream, Howlin\u2019 Wolf and the Kentucky Headhunters.\u00a0 BSC has direct ties to the Kentucky Headhunters.\u00a0 Drummer John Fred Young\u2019s father and Uncle were both founding members of the classic country rockers the Kentucky Headhunters.<\/p>\n

\"Image\"Black Stone Cherry took the stage and opened with the track Change from their last studio album Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.\u00a0 Chris Robertson is a beast on the guitar and he has the vocals that would make Elvis roll over in his grave!<\/p>\n

The heartfelt lyrics that he sings are a testament to where the band came from and who they are.\u00a0 Many of the lyrics talk about personal experiences and some of the legends from Kentucky.\u00a0 During the performance both he and guitarist Wells keep things moving while sharing both the rhythm and lead duties for the band.\u00a0 The Bassist, Jon Lawhon, assists with the vocals and can make a bass guitar do things that most other bass players can\u2019t!\u00a0 John Fred Young is an absolute maniac on the drums.\u00a0 One minute he is sitting on his stool banging on the skins and the next minute he is standing up not missing a beat.<\/p>\n

The guys broke into Blame It On The Boom Boom and the crowd seemed to know every word.\u00a0 Robertson would often point the mic to the crowd and invite them to sing along.<\/p>\n

During the bands final song, Lawhon flipped his bass over, held it up for Young who then began to play the thing with his drum sticks to create a captivatingly unique sound!<\/p>\n

Black Stone Cherry played a great selection of tracks from each of their highly rated albums including the incredible Blind Man, Soul Creek, In My Blood, Like I Roll, Blame It on the Boom Boom and the excellent White Trash Millionaire.<\/p>\n

The song In My Blood has a unique story behind it.\u00a0 The guys wrote this tune about their own life and being on the road for months at a time while missing their family and friends back home.\u00a0 In the music video the band follows PFC. Randy Hirneisen who is a 20 year old Army soldier, from war-torn Afghanistan to his hometown in Georgia where he meets his son for the first time.\u00a0 This is a true representation of who these guys really are. Down to earth genuine good people who can rock the house like no other!<\/p>\n

Black Stone Cherry has opened for bands like Motley Crue, Motorhead, Nickleback and Soundgarden to name a few.\u00a0 They also headline sold out shows in the UK with #1 hits on the UK rock chart.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
