\"\"Heart\u2026 Def Leppard\u2026. Together? Hell yeah!!! This combination was a dream come true for me. Heart has always been my absolute favorite group, and who can\u2019t appreciate the talent and longevity of Def Leppard? Needless to say, this HMR Bitch jumped at the chance to see the show when they came to the Woodlands. The show was originally scheduled for July, but due to the death of Joe Elliot\u2019s father, they had to postpone. Let me just say that it was worth the wait.<\/p>\n

Heart took the stage first, with an opening that surprised the Hell out of me. They came out rocking Led Zeppelin\u2019s Rock and Roll. It sounded great. After that, they started their string of hits. The first one out the chute was one of my all time favorite songs \u201cMagic Man\u201d. The Wilson sisters are still amazing. Ann continues to nail the notes, and Nancy wails on the guitar. She has so much energy, and the rest of the band was in sync. They put on a terrific show. I\u2019m so glad I was able to get up close and personal to these legendary ladies. Shooting them was an honor for this Heart fan.<\/p>\n

Def Leppard was, well, Def Leppard. There\u2019s a reason they\u2019ve been around since \u201977. They put on a rock show that had it all: A backdrop full of video screens, a set with several levels to run around on, huge sound, and an amazing light show. Although there was some autotuning (I\u2019ll cut them some slack since they\u2019re \u201cseasoned\u201d), Joe Elliot and the rest of the boys vocals were solid. The musicianship in this band is absolutely phenomenal. The current members of Def Leppard have been playing together since \u201992, and they practically know what the others will do before they do it. What I loved is that they mixed their songs up so much\u2026. A couple of rocking and dancing songs, and then they\u2019d slow it down.<\/p>\n

I personally loved when they covered David Essex\u2019s \u201cRock On\u201d. They put their spin on it and it was a great song to perform live. Another favorite time of the night was when they went unplugged to perform \u201cTwo Steps Behind\u201d. Very nice. They closed the show with \u201cPour Some Sugar On Me\u201d, with the epic \u201cRock of Ages \u201cas the encore. If you\u2019re a fan of live music and concerts, you really need to try to see these guys while they\u2019re still touring.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
