Trishas2“Magical…just magical” says manager Mike Ford as he watches, transfixed, from his table at the Dosey Doe Big Barn in the Woodlands.  It’s been a while since we’ve had the pleasure of your company..and it was oh so worth the wait.

The Trishas adorned the newly remodeled stage as if they’d never left it. Indeed, if you haven’t seen the revamped and expanded Big Barn you need to.  In a way, the return of these lovely ladies christened the stage.

Having taken some time out for their personal lives they were back, more mature, well established and musically in better form than I’ve ever heard them. This was the first stop on the Spring Fling tour and who could resist that one?

All four rose to the occasion playing to a sold out house of about 300. Savannah Welch, Kelley Mickwee, Jamie Wilson and Liz Foster were accompanied by Brandy Zdan on guitar, steel guitar and John Silva on drums.

The set list drew in large part from the latest (and only) full length CD High, Wide and Handsome.  Toss in a few tunes from the EP They Call Us The Trishas and a couple new ones from Savannah and Jamie and you’ve got one amazing show on your hands.

I can tell you it was good to see The Trishas again.  It’s not just music, it’s friends. The friendship that exists between these girls is not only obvious, but infectious and fun. In Savannah’s words..’this could go on all night’…and she launches into a song thereby ending whatever feud was brewing. All in good fun mind you.

Trishas1Long associations with some of music’s illuminati (Ray Wylie Hubbard, Kevin Welch, Raul Malo to name a few) springboard this band into the limelight. Obviously the lessons were well learned. Songwriting and the delivery of said songs is superb and come well recommended.

Pick up on the CD High, Wide and Handsome and the entire catalog at www.thetrishas.com . News and other merch available there as well. The best part is the live show though. I’ll see you there next time!

Thanks to Dosey Doe and Julie Arkenstone with Conqueroo for a really nice show.
