\"\"<\/a>I\u2019m\u00a0glad last night\u2019s show\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0the night before\u00a0as there was\u00a0thunder &\u00a0lightning in the air and lots of water falling from the sky, at least where I live.<\/p>\n

Anyway, all that weather left the area of The Woodlands Pavilion\u00a0the day of the show\u00a0and was replaced by a beautiful\u00a0cool\u00a0Spring\u00a0evening\u2026one with a little crispness in the air and a lot of\u00a0great\u00a0music surrounding it!<\/p>\n

And all that\u00a0sound\u00a0was from two\u00a0artist\u00a0that are from across the pond.\u00a0The opener for the evening\u00a0is from the\u00a0UK\u00a0and his name\u00a0is\u00a0Howard Jones.<\/p>\n

I\u00a0know\u00a0the singer\u00a0Tom Jones<\/em>\u00a0but\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0know\u00a0Howard Jones\u00a0although I\u00a0did remember a couple of his songs\u00a0after his\u00a0performance. His big hit was the early highlight of the evening for those that came in time to watch his performance!<\/p>\n

No One Was\u00a0To\u00a0Blame<\/em>\u00a0could be heard echoing around the pavilion as it was being sung\u00a0all around the\u00a0nearly sold-out\u00a0venue.<\/p>\n

I must\u00a0say\u00a0that I found\u00a0Jones\u00a0very talented\u00a0and engaging with the enthusiastic audience, many who were on their feet periodically during his set as well as Rod Stewart\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>And speaking of Rod Stewart,\u00a0actually Sir Rod\u00a0Stewart, he\u00a0put on\u00a0quite\u00a0a\u00a0production\u00a0and I\u00a0make that\u00a0statement\u00a0with no consideration\u00a0for\u00a0the man\u2019s age. Rod is 81 however based on what I\u00a0observed\u00a0he\u00a0is\u00a0a very young\u00a081. He\u00a0spent much of the evening on the move, back and forth across the stage with many dance\u00a0steps in\u00a0between and a twirl of the mic stand more than once.<\/p>\n

I did notice that often during his time on stage he would turn his back on the audience. I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0know the \u2018why\u2019 of this occurring but expect I will get the answer when I review the images I took of the show. (Let me\u00a0speculate\u00a0that it had something to do with the\u00a0several\u00a0young\u00a0women who were part\u00a0of the onstage production.)<\/p>\n

Let me move on to his\u00a0game plan\u00a0for the evening.\u00a0It goes something like this:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Have a great production\u00a0that includes really nice lighting.\u00a0Sing your\u00a0many\u00a0classic\u00a0hits and\u00a0add in\u00a0some\u00a0terrific\u00a0covers. Wear\u00a0really cool\u00a0clothing\u00a0that you would\u00a0see\u00a0if you\u00a0performing\u00a0in Las Vegas and have your \u2018trade mark\u2019 hair-do\u00a0going on and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0likely\u00a0going\u00a0to be a fun & entertaining night for the\u00a0fans\u00a0in attendance.\u00a0That\u2019s\u00a0what we were dealing\u00a0with\u00a0this\u00a0night. Did I mention it was a school night besides? \u00a0And bet there\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0a lot of concern being expressed about his age getting in the way of his performance.<\/p>\n

In closing,\u00a0Rod sang all my favorites including The First Cut,\u00a0Forever Young,\u00a0Tonight\u2019s the Night & he covered The Temptations song\u00a0Losing\u00a0You\u2026I am\u00a0a big Temps fan!<\/p>\n

In closing, the tour\u2019s name is \u2018One Last Time\u2019\u00a0which would\u00a0suggest the end\u00a0is near.\u00a0Nothing I saw on stage\u00a0substantiated\u00a0that idea. But if\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0true\u00a0I am happy I got to experience\u00a0Rod this night\u00a0and photograph\u00a0him as well! (Check my images out in the Photo Gallery)<\/p>\n
