\"\"<\/a>August 13, 2026 \u2013 \u201cThat Cars sound,\u201d taking inspiration from The Cars and \u201880s New Wave music, is actually what COLLECTIVE SOUL–Ed Roland (vocals\/guitar\/piano), Dean Roland (rhythm guitar), Will Turpin (bass), Jesse Triplett (lead guitar), Johnny Rabb (drums)\u2014had in mind when they were recording their latest album, TOUCH AND GO<\/u>, which was released July 31 on their label, Fuzze-Flex Records distributed physically by AMPED Distribution and digitally by Virgin Music Group.<\/p>\n

Originally available as part of this past Spring\u2019s Record Store Day, the 10-song TOUCH AND GO<\/u> is now available on all digital outlets, CD, and 180-gram teal-marble colored vinyl HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The nostalgia can be seen all over the new video out today for \u201cEye On You,\u201d which can be seen on the band\u2019s official YouTube page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Skopemag.com<\/a> recently described TOUCH AND GO<\/u> as an album that \u201c\u2026blends and covers the New Wave era uniquely.\u00a0The band was definitely feeling it.\u00a0Ed\u2019s vocals frequently echo that of Rick Ocasek.\u00a0 The backing vocal mix compliments the songs. The essential keyboard\/synth action was nicely integrated. Guitarists Jesse and Dean easily picked up this format, which owes a lot to The Cult and of course the Cars\u2019 guitarist Elliot Easton. This genre is also definitely in the rhythm section\u2019s wheelhouse.\u00a0 Drummer Johnny and bassist Will are feeling the vibe. The structure and arrangements are extremely well done.\u00a0 The parts all tightly fit.\u00a0 Treat yourself to going back in time and escaping the mind-numbing effects of most of today\u2019s current offerings.
