\"Image\"What a surprise my wife and I had at Dosey Doe in The Woodlands this past Saturday night!\u00a0 And I really shouldn\u2019t have been surprised if I\u2019d thought about it.\u00a0 Melissa Manchester\u2019s performance was \u2018off the charts\u2019.\u00a0 Steve & Joan Said, owners of Dosey Doe know how to do it right when booking talent for their stage, and she was no exception.\u00a0 From the first notes, you could tell it was going to be a perfect fit.<\/p>\n

Ms. Manchester put it into high gear from the moment she took the stage and never took her foot off the throttle the whole night.\u00a0 By the time she took a break about halfway through her set, we were ready, but only to catch our breath and stare at each other with our mouths open.<\/p>\n

Besides her high energy, beautiful vocals, and wonderfully familiar songs, she also had great company on stage.\u00a0 Sue Holder, her back up vocalist \/ road manager added her own special \u2018flavor\u2019 to the mix, along with guitarist \/ keyboardist Stephan Oberhoff, an accomplished artist in his own right.<\/p>\n

She played some 15 songs, including her most popular hits, Midnight Blue & Don\u2019t Cry Out Loud.<\/p>\n

\"Image\"She also had an \u2018added touch\u2019 to her show, a prop on stage, that I had never seen at Dosey Doe before.\u00a0 Standing in the corner, stage left, was a stand alone screen much like the one we\u2019d take out when I was a kid to view the family vacation slides.\u00a0 It was distracting until she started performing and even then I continued to wonder what she was planning to do with it.\u00a0 The speculation ended when a video came on of the singer performing many years ago.\u00a0 Then Melissa Manchester, live and in person, began to accompany herself!\u00a0 She sang along in perfect sync to the newcomer Melissa on the screen.<\/p>\n

And if that wasn\u2019t fun enough, her pal Barry Manilow was next up.\u00a0 He greeted her, she greeted him, and they sang a duet of a medley of tunes.\u00a0 It was very effective and entertaining.\u00a0 It truly felt almost like he was there!<\/p>\n

I guess by now you can tell that I thought she was magnificent.\u00a0 Proof positive\u2026 I took over 1700 images (versus my normal couple of hundred).\u00a0 Thank you Melissa Manchester for a beautiful and inspired show & thank you Dosey Doe for having the brilliance to book her!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
