At the Corner Pub was the totally surprising, high energy Lost and Nameless Orchestra. A very enthusiastic few told me this was one of the best bands at the festival. LNO came highly recommended by the Pub’s agent, but no one knew anything about them, but since their agent was so enthusiastic the Pub took a chance. The Corner Pub always brings some great music in at festival time, but this time they hit a home run.

One of LNO’s missions is to put on an insanely good show and by all accounts they’ve honed their style and deliver this and much much more. It wasn’t long before they had the crowd on their feet mesmerized by the absolutely stunning, foot stomping music. According to Rodney and Joyce Pool (The Pub’s owners) they had to push a few tables back and clear the dance floor because they needed the room!

Founded in 1993 in St. Louis by Chris Peterson (fiddle / lap steel / mandolin / bass) and Patrick Conway (acoustic & electric guitars/vocals) the duo began traveling throughout the USA and Europe. After honing their talents and performance abilities into a much sought after duo, Chris and Patrick decided to call Austin their home. Soon they added Nathan Quiring (keyboards/percussion), Chris Carroll (drums/percussion) and 14 year old child prodigy Kimberly Zielnicki (fiddle / bass / vocals / ukulele).

The only recorded offering is a self-titled 6 song EP recorded live in Austin and released in 2008. According to the press releases they are in the studio now tracking for a new CD, but we don’t have a release date yet. Too bad, we’ll just have to settle for the live performances for now (said with tongue in cheek).

The song list included the cuts from the EP, and a preview of cuts from the upcoming CD. Drawing from the diverse styles, they can lay out a soothing original sound with a Folk and Americana dominated flavor, then drive you to your feet with a high energy song driven by a fast paced Irish dominated fiddle sound which would do the famous RiverDance proud. Put the introspective ballads together with the high energy fiddles, throw a stunning performance on top of that and I’m betting we’ll see more of Lost and Nameless Orchestra in Conroe soon. Check http://www.lostandnameless.com for music samples and performance details. If you like upbeat music with a stunning performance this band is for you. She’s only 14???
