Image“If this disturbs you then walk away” fresh off their new album Ten Thousand Fist. Disturbed came to town with the Jagermeister music tour. We were there to cover the show and it didn’t look like many fans were walking away from this one. Check out the coverage from the show…

As a packed verizon wireless theater waited for the band to hit the stage you could feel the excitement in the crowd. When disturbed came on and started with their song “Liberate” the place just seemed to explode as mosh pits formed and the crowd surfers took the air.

There wasn’t much time during the show when the audience stood still. As the band went through songs from their new album “Ten Thousand Fist”, as well as their two previous “The Sickness” and  “Believe”.

About every three to four songs they would break for a few minutes, during which time singer David Draimen would address some of the issues going on in the world today. Including the war and George W. Bush’s policies and politics. He also thanked all the members of our armed forces for their bravery and commitment to our country.

This Chicago based band which formed in 1997 had their first studio album out in 2000 with the next to follow in 2002. They have built one of the biggest fan bases I have seen in a while. Now with their latest offering, “Ten Thousand Fist”, I think they have really brought something to the people with some meaning and true feelings.

As the set went on they played so many songs, including their cover of the Phil Collins band, Genesis’ “Land of Confusion”.  Which I haven’t heard since sometime in the 80’s as a kid. They left the stage with the song “Ten Thousand Fist” in which the chorus line was a very fitting end for what we thought was the end of the night.

“You will remember the night you were struck with the sight of ten thousand fist in the air” which we certainly will.  I think they probably had all the fists they were looking for that night. They left the stage for only a few moments to come back and ask if we wanted more. I personally was feeling a bit unsatisfied without getting to hear my favorite song by them, “Down with the Sickness”.

But my ears were quickly at ease when I heard the unmistakable drumbeat that begins their biggest hit. Followed by the primal yell of OH WA WA WA AH. My night felt compete as I think all of the fans there felt that way too. They left the stage with the closing as they have done in the past. Asking the crowd to chant it with them. “We are DISTURED, we are DISTURBED, we all are DISTURED…”
