ImageSome people just do not realize how lucky they have it. While most bands only last a few years and disappear into obscurity, some are able to overcome this and last on. Peter Frampton is one of those people. Sad thing is, he does not seem to care.It was appropriate that Frampton’s back drop on this night was an empty, drab, gray room with an old table and no window shade. It was empty as in an 80-minute show. Empty as in Peter chose to “Neil Young” the audience with playing entire new stuff with only 4 classics tossed in. Empty as doing an instrumental for an encore!

Not only did Frampton abandon most of his classic rockers, he seemed emotionless when performing the few he did. Rather than cater to the audience who has supported him for nearly 30 years, Frampton seemed genuinely put out to be there playing his songs.

Don’t get me wrong, Frampton was in fine form with his voice and guitar work, but he seemed to be sleepwalking through the set. I don’t blame a performer who wants to push new material and promote their new album, but this was a going through the motions deal for sure. Too bad for the audience who paid a good chunk of change to see it, hopefully they won’t fall for it again.
